I love to watch interior design and decorating shows on channels like diy and HGTV, so once I learned what my dorm room was supposed to look like I started deciding how I was going to make the space my own.

I sent so many links to stuff that I liked to my high school friend and future roommate over wild blue direct tv and she sent a bunch of links back to me too.

One of the things that we loved was an art deco looking throw rug with geometric brown and gold shapes all over it. I thought it wouldn’t clash too bad with the ugly brown floor tiles in our dorm room that would undoubtedly peak out around the edges, but also distract people from them.

We just moved into our room last week and I think it looks surprisingly modern and mature to just be an old dusty dorm room.
